Lake Worth Beach Electric Utility is one of sixteen municipal utilities partnering in the Florida Municipal Solar Project. By the end of 2023, the project will complete five solar farms totaling 1.5 million solar panels that will generate nearly 375 megawatts. Through our Community Solar Program, all Lake Worth Beach electric utility customers will have access to solar energy’s economic and environmental benefits.

Why Solar?

Because we are doing our part to bring clean, sustainable, affordable solar energy to our Lake Worth beach community.
Not everyone can afford to install solar panels on their roof. That is why we partnered with the Florida Municipal Power Agency and 15 other local utilities to build solar farms that will provide renewable energy at an affordable price. Through our Community Solar Program, all customers have access to the economic and environmental benefits of solar energy.

How does it work?

Utilities build solar farms to benefit customers.
Customers plug into energy generated at the solar farms of which Lake Worth Electric Utility is a part. This means you subscribe to solar energy with no upfront costs or maintenance fees.

Customers choose their subscription level.
When the program is launched you tell us whether you want 25%, 50% or 100% of your power from solar. We will post the date you can participate in the program soon.

That’s It! You have now joined and fully support the sustainable energy movement
Customers begin receiving solar energy. A small subscription charge will appear on your monthly power bill for solar energy. This charge is based on the percentage you designate.
