Interconnection Requirements – City of Lake Worth Beach Electric Utility

The City of Lake Worth Beach Electric Utility, your Citizen Owned Energy, supports renewable energy and provides clear requirements for customers who wish to interconnect their systems. Our goal is to make the process straightforward while ensuring compliance with state rules and national reliability standards.

Net Metering Program
Under Florida’s net metering rules, customers may offset all or part of their electric use by interconnecting a renewable energy system at their metered service account.
Systems must be estimated to produce less than 115% of the customer’s annual kWh consumption.
Systems that exceed 90% of the existing service capacity may require additional equipment or costs.
All interconnection applications must be approved prior to installation and operation of the renewable energy system.
