Lake Worth Beach Linemen Plan to Compete in 2026 Florida Lineman Rodeo

Representing the Community
The 25th Annual 2026 Florida Lineman Competition is approaching on March 13-14 in Tallahassee Florida, at Apalachee Regional Park. Lake Worth Beach linemen plan to once again showcase their expertise as seasoned professionals and represent our community.

A Tradition of Skill and Teamwork
The Florida Lineman Competition, also known as the Lineman Rodeo, has been a popular tradition since starting in 2001 by the Florida Municipal Electric Association, FMEA. It challenges electric utility workers to perform high-stakes, real-world tasks in a competitive setting, showcasing their skill, safety practices, and teamwork abilities. The competition is both a technical showcase and a way to honor the vital work that keeps communities powered and protected.
The event is open to the public with free admission, featuring family-friendly activities, local food trucks, and career information booths for those interested in joining the electric utility workforce.

Competition Highlights
Lake Worth Beach’s electric utility team will compete alongside the best in the state, facing off in intense challenges such as pole climbing and equipment replacement, hurt man rescue simulations, transformer and cable repair, replacing arrestors and insulators, and simulated mutual aid responses.
Competitors are scored on speed, precision, and adherence to safety protocols. Journeyman teams, consisting of three experienced line workers with at least five years in the field, will compete in team events. Apprentices, who are still in training, will compete individually, showcasing their growing expertise in the trade.

Honoring Essential Work
The 2026 Florida Lineman Competition is more than just a contest; it was a powerful reminder of the essential role electric lineworkers play every day to keep the lights on, especially during storms, outages, and emergencies. The 2026 Florida Linemen Rodeo will take place on March 13-14 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. We hope to see you there cheering our team on!
