The City of Lake Worth Beach Electric Utility is committed to providing reliable, affordable, and increasingly sustainable electricity to our customers. The projected energy portfolio for calendar year 2026 reflects a balanced mix of energy resources that helps ensure dependable service while continuing to support clean energy goals.
Based on projected energy requirements, Lake Worth Beach expects to receive approximately 509,702 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity in 2026. Nearly half of that energy will come from carbon-free sources, including both nuclear and solar power.
The projected energy mix includes:
- Natural Gas: 51.68%
- Nuclear Energy: 30.80%
- Solar Energy: 17.52%
The City’s clean energy resources include power generated from the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, the Rice Creek Solar Energy Center, the Whistling Duck Solar Energy Center, and the Lake Worth Beach Solar I facility. Together, these carbon-free resources are expected to provide more than 246,000 MWh of electricity in 2026.
Natural gas remains an important part of the portfolio, supplying electricity when demand is high and supporting grid reliability. By maintaining a diverse mix of energy sources, Lake Worth Beach can provide dependable power while reducing carbon emissions and adapting to changing energy needs.
