The City of Lake Worth Beach Electric Utilities was recognized in RELAY magazine for its ongoing commitment to strengthening electric reliability and storm resiliency following Hurricane Irma. Under the leadership of Utilities Director Ed Liberty, the utility launched a comprehensive multi-year system hardening initiative focused on upgrading infrastructure, improving outage response technology, enhancing vegetation management, and reinforcing poles to withstand Category 5 hurricane winds. These investments helped improve restoration efforts during Hurricane Ian and continue to support a more resilient electric system for the Lake Worth Beach community.
